The given apartment was designed for a young couple. Flexible, bold and intimate. Traits of the young couple or features of the apartment? Both. See how, below: The dynamic of the apartment is granted by the “fictive” partition of the space through a shift in finish or chromatics. The very clear, yet imaginary delimitation line between the lounge and the dining is one such example. In this case, the delimitation is made by adding some geometric, decorative elements and the wallpaper in order to bring the dining area into the foreground. However, the separation between the two is not fetched, but on the contrary, seems natural. Therefore, the chairs in the dining area have the same colour as the cushions and the textures adorning the sofa, making the lounge and the dinning blend into one another smoothly. The vertical lines are a recurring feature, adding height to the space. They can be noticed in almost every room, from the stripped wallpaper in the bedroom, the paintings with the long axis oriented vertically, to the two cylindrical lamps. The apartment has enough furniture and objects to add stability to the space, but not enough to make it too congested, thus giving the clients a great flexibility of adding, moving or giving it up, according to their needs. To avoid filing the space with massive furniture for clothes storage, I chose to replace it with a dressing room with plain wooden finish, discrete and spacious enough to fit in the entire wardrobe. The white walls, large openings and well-designed lighting, the light-coloured textures and the up-mentioned vertical lines make the apartment particularly spacious. The interior blends simplicity with intricate details like those in the dining area or the bathroom and kitchen tiles. It also blends the curved lines, like those of the transparent coffee table, with the geometric ones that are either bidimensional, like those on the tiles, or tridimensional, like seen in the ascends and descends of the false ceiling. It blends the inside with the outside, through the large windows and the use of plants. In addition to all these benefits, the delightful lake-view makes the best adornment, outside as well as inside, as shown in our design.
